Flux

Blackened Acacia Wood

20’ x 10’ x 10’

2022

Permanent Sculpture for Domaine de Chaumont-sur-Loire Sculpture Park, France.

Flux is a large-scale installation between the historic castle and stables of Chaumont-sur-Loire. It is constructed of blackened branches, taken from trees in the park and along the Loire River. In addition to the location between two historic buildings, Flux is nestled beneath sweeping cedar trees, offering partial glimpses beckoning viewers to come closer. Flux echoes the gesture of the cedars- deeply rooted and reaching up. Though the wood is dense, the form belies these materials and rather conveys movement like the flow of water or wind.
